LWL Season 3: Episode 1 “Rising Stars”

SCENE ONE – CONCERT VENUE 1 – BACKSTAGE

A video is being recorded for the tour.

ARIA: Is it on? Okay.

AVERI hops into the frame with ARIA as the two are walking towards the stage.

AVERI: Hey guys, I’m here with my good friend Aria…

ARIA waves.

ARIA: Hi!

AVERI: …and we are getting ready to hit the stage for the first night of our tour!

ARIA whoops.

AVERI turns to ARIA.

AVERI: How are you feeling?

ARIA: Pretty good. I think it’s gonna be an amazing night.

AVERI: Same.

THE AUDIENCE’s clapping and cheering fading in can be heard as they approach TOBY, SOMMER, and BRADEN who are standing behind the curtain.

ARIA high fives the three.

AVERI: Good luck!

ARIA: Thanks!

ARIA takes a deep breath before she walks through the curtain.

The crowd cheers loudly as she makes her entrance.

SCENE TWO – INT. CONCERT VENUE 1

The stage lights come on.

ARIA performs.

SCENE THREE – TOUR BUS – LIVING AREA

ARIA is playing her guitar and singing another song.

SCENE FOUR – CONCERT VENUE 2

ARIA is performing on a different night.

SCENE FIVE – INT. CONCERT VENUE 3

SCENE SIX – EXT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – MAIN ENTRANCE

ARIA walks up to the building with a big smile on her face.

SCENE SEVEN – INT. L&O HEADQUARTERS – BREAK ROOM

SAM is making a cup of coffee.

ARIA walks in.

ARIA: Sam?

SAM turns around.

SAM: Aria?

ARIA: Hi.

SAM and ARIA hug.

SAM: You’re back.

ARIA: I’m back.

SAM: Well, I can’t say I’m not excited to hear about the tour—

ARIA: And I’m excited for you to hear about it, but I would much rather tell you all at once. Let me go get everyone.

ARIA starts to head out of the room.

SAM: You won’t find anybody.

ARIA stops short and looks back.

ARIA: What are you talking about?

SAM doesn’t respond.

ARIA: Sam, what happened?

SAM lets out a deep sigh.

SCENE EIGHT – OPENING THEME

The opening theme plays.

SCENE NINE – INT. SAM AND JAXON’S LOFT

ONE MONTH EARLIER

JAXON is sitting on the couch.

JAXON: Nothing happened. It was just a moment.

JAXON softly chuckles.

JAXON: Okay, now I can see how stupid it sounded.

LIV walks over to the couch after returning from the kitchen.

LIV: I’m glad because love was clearly in the air this summer.

JAXON’s face drops.

JAXON: Yeah it was.

LIV slowly sits on the couch next to Jaxon.

LIV: Is everything okay?

JAXON: Not really.

LIV: Jax, you can’t still be blaming yourself for what happened the other day.

JAXON: Yes I can.

LIV sighs and lays her head down on his lap.

JAXON begins to gently play with her hair as he lets out his thoughts.

JAXON: I pushed Lola out of her comfort zone. And I only did it because I thought it was the perfect time. I wouldn’t have said anything if I knew Raya was back in town.

LIV: I get that, but it’s not like Sam would just take her back.

JAXON: Yeah, but he might. What those two had was really something special. He was crushed when they broke up.

LIV: Well maybe the reminder of that pain will keep him from running back to her.

JAXON: Maybe.

Suddenly, a key can be heard turning in the door, forcing LIV to jump up and sit on the other side of the couch.

SAM walks in.

SAM: Hey guys.

JAXON: Hey bro.

LIV: Hi.

JAXON: How was your night?

SAM: Great.

LIV: Nice.

LIV looks at the time on her phone.

LIV: Well, it’s getting late. I should probably head home.

LIV slips her boots on and grabs her purse.

JAXON rises from his spot on the couch.

JAXON: I’ll walk you to your car.

LIV: Yeah. That’d be great.

LIV and JAXON begin to head towards the door, but before they get there, SAM can help but notice one of Jaxon’s hands on the small of Liv’s back linger a little too long to be deemed as friendly.

SCENE TEN – EXT. SAM AND JAXON’S LOFT

LIV and JAXON walk up to Liv’s car.

LIV: Thanks for walking me out.

JAXON: My pleasure.

LIV starts to twiddle her thumbs.

LIV: You know, I realized that we never really had a talk about what this is.

JAXON: You’re right. Well, I can safely say that we’re not friends anymore. And nothing would make me happier than to be your boyfriend.

LIV: And nothing would make me happier to be your girlfriend. But the last thing I want is for people to be involved in our business, especially now that our names are way more in the public’s eye. So it might be a good idea for us to keep things on the down low for a little while. Just until things cool down.

JAXON: I agree. Friend.

LIV: Right. Friend.

JAXON shudders.

JAXON: I really don’t like that, but it’s just temporary.

LIV: Thankfully.

LIV and JAXON hold hands and gaze at each other before JAXON quickly pecks her cheek.

LIV giggles softly.

LIV: Goodnight Jaxon.

JAXON: Goodnight.

JAXON opens Liv’s car door for her.

LIV gets in the car and starts it.

As her car pulls off, JAXON waves once more before he heads back inside.

SCENE ELEVEN – INT. SAM AND JAXON’S LOFT – LIVING ROOM

JAXON enters, smiling to himself.

SAM: So…

JAXON stops short and looks up.

SAM is sitting in one of the armchairs facing the door with his arms crossed.

SAM: How long have you two been dating?

JAXON laughs nervously.

JAXON: I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Liv and I are just friends. She—

JAXON begins to stutter over his words.

JAXON: She doesn’t even like me like that.

SAM: Oh please stop. You’re the worst liar I’ve ever met. It is easily your most embarrassing quality. She’s literally been spending more time with you in this apartment than anywhere else since we got back.

JAXON: Okay, fine. We’re dating.

SAM jumps up from his chair.

SAM: Ah! I knew it.

SAM pulls out his phone from his pocket.

SAM: Oh my God. The girls are gonna die when they find out that I know.

JAXON’s eyes widen as he races across the room to take the phone out of Sam’s hand.

JAXON: No! You can’t talk about this with them.

SAM: Why? It’s not like they don’t already know.

JAXON: They don’t know.

SAM: Oh.

JAXON hands him the phone back.

JAXON: Liv and I decided that it might be a good idea to keep our relationship private for a while until all of the hype from our Montecito summer dies down. I only told you because it was only gonna be a matter of time before you figured it out. This is the one of the only places we can meet where there’s no eyes on us.

SAM: Makes sense.

JAXON: I’m sure we’ll be ready to tell everybody eventually. But honestly, the less people that know right now, the better.

SAM: Your secret’s safe with me.

JAXON: Thanks man.

SAM and JAXON do their bro-shake.

SCENE TWELVE – INT. THE REC ROOM – COURT

SKYLAR and BRIANNA are finishing up an indoor tennis game.

BRIANNA makes the winning shot.

BRIANNA: Game, set, match.

BRIANNA jogs over to meet Skylar on her side of the court.

SKYLAR: Nice shot.

BRIANNA: Thanks.

SKYLAR and BRIANNA both grab their waters to take a drink.

SKYLAR: I almost had you that time.

BRIANNA: You did. I’ve got to step it up. You’re getting way too good for a rookie.

SKYLAR: Well I have been practicing. I could barely keep up with you for our first few matches.

BRIANNA: You were the one who told me not to go easy on you.

SKYLAR: I did, because I like a challenge.

SKYLAR and BRIANNA grab their bags and rackets and head towards the exit.

SKYLAR: You just wait. I’ll get you next time.

BRIANNA: Oh, we’ll see about that.

SCENE THIRTEEN – EXT. THE REC ROOM

SKYLAR and BRIANNA exit the building and make their way towards Skylar’s car.

SKYLAR: Are you ready for work tomorrow?

BRIANNA: Pretty much. I’m glad we already went in and got organized.

SKYLAR: Me too.

BRIANNA: Did you hear about Wildwave?

SKYLAR: Yeah. Nearly broke my heart. I really thought they were gonna work it out.

BRIANNA: Me too. But the last thing they’d want is to work together with all the tension.

SKYLAR: True.

SKYLAR unlocks the car.

SKYLAR and BRIANNA put their bags in the back seat and get in.

SCENE FOURTEEN – INT. SKYLAR’S CAR

BRIANNA: I reached out to each of the girls for comments so that we can work together to squash the rumors before they get out of control. Most of them seemed open to the idea, so that will be my big project this month.

SKYLAR: Well that’s good.

BRIANNA: Yeah it is. I really hope that Devyn agrees to participate. I feel like it might send the wrong message if she’s left out of the article.

SKYLAR: Yeah, I can see where you’re coming from.

BRIANNA: We’ve only got two weeks to get a response before we move forward with it.

SKYLAR: If you want, I can reach out to her personally. Put out any fires before they spread.

BRIANNA: That would be great. Thanks.

SKYLAR: No problem.

BRIANNA: Look, I don’t really want to pry, but I also don’t want to make the same mistakes that we made over the summer.

SKYLAR: What are you talking about?

BRIANNA: We never really talked about the whole Addi thing.

SKYLAR: What is there to talk about? She made the decision to leave L&O for good. I didn’t make her. But it was probably for the best. She and I miraculously found a way to be civil, but the bad blood was still there. There’s no denying that.

BRIANNA remains silent, prompting SKYLAR to continue.

SKYLAR: But it’s like you said. I don’t want to make the same mistakes either. I’m gonna wish her well, move forward on this new path, and not look back.

BRIANNA: I’m proud of you, Sky.

SKYLAR: Thanks.

SKYLAR starts the car and pulls off.

SCENE FIFTEEN – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – SEBASTIAN’S OFFICE

SEBASTIAN is sitting at his desk.

AUSTIN is sitting in one of the chairs that is facing him.

SEBASTIAN: That is a big ask, Austin.

AUSTIN: I know. But this could be huge.

SEBASTIAN: With all due respect, you could make your docuseries about anyone or anything, so why my top employees?

AUSTIN: Because they’re not just your employees anymore. They’ve finally made a name for themselves outside of Rose. And I want to take this opportunity while I can before everyone else wants them.

SEBASTIAN sighs.

AUSTIN: I also got an internship and I really think that it will help me stand out against my other colleagues.

SEBASTIAN: Well that’s great. Where’s the internship?

AUSTIN hesitates to answer for a minute.

AUSTIN: Sapphire Entertainment.

SEBASTIAN’s eyes narrow.

AUSTIN: Now I know what you’re gonna say…

SEBASTIAN: You do?

AUSTIN: But Sofia said that I would be the best person for the job.

SEBASTIAN: Oh, I’m sure she did. Look, you are entering adulthood now and you are more than capable of making your own choices as far as your career is concerned. But I feel like I have even more of an obligation as your uncle to warn you that working at Sapphire comes with a price.

AUSTIN: I know and I’ll be careful. I promise.

SEBASTIAN silently nods.

AUSTIN: So do you approve of the project?

SEBASTIAN: I just need some time to think.

AUSTIN: Okay.

AUSTIN exits the office.

SEBASTIAN is left to contemplate at his desk.

SCENE SIXTEEN – EXT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O ROOFTOP

BRIANNA is recording a video on her phone.

BRIANNA: It’s time! L&O is officially back at Rose! Huge shoutout to all of our new followers and Miss Kourtney Castro for giving us such a wonderful opportunity to grow together. And with that being said, let’s head downstairs and see what everybody’s up to!

SCENE SEVENTEEN – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O HEADQUARTERS – SKYLAR’S PODCAST STUDIO

The video continues.

BRIANNA knocks on the door.

SKYLAR calls out from the other side of the door.

SKYLAR: Come in!

BRIANNA opens the door.

SKYLAR is sitting at her table on her laptop. She looks up and smiles.

SKYLAR: Hey. What’s up?

BRIANNA: Just giving our followers a little sneak peek into our first day back.

SKYLAR: Gotcha. Well this is my newly transformed podcast studio. Right now I’m in the process of editing the first episode, so make sure you’re following the Block Party IG page for all of the updates on the releases.

BRIANNA: Well, I will let you get back to it. Good luck with the editing.

SKYLAR: Thanks.

SKYLAR gives a peace sign to the camera.

SCENE EIGHTEEN – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O HEADQUARTERS – JAXON’S OFFICE

The video continues.

JAXON and LIV are in the office talking and laughing.

BRIANNA enters the office.

BRIANNA: Hey.

LIV: Hi Bri.

JAXON: What are you up to?

BRIANNA: Just getting some behind the scenes content of what everyone’s up to for our first day back.

JAXON: Oh.

JAXON grabs Liv’s lookbook off of his desk.

JAXON: Well Liv and I are just looking at her new book. It just came from the publisher.

BRIANNA: Ooh. That’s exciting. Congratulations.

LIV: Thanks.

BRIANNA ends the video.

BRIANNA: And that’s all the video content I can get because Ari is in Cali and our two fearless leaders have yet to arrive.

JAXON: Don’t worry. Sam’s on his way.

BRIANNA: And Lola?

LIV: Still haven’t heard from her.

BRIANNA sighs.

BRIANNA: Just great.

JAXON: How are you doing, Bri? I know a new position can be a little daunting.

BRIANNA: There is no new position.

LIV: But I thought that you and Sky decided—

BRIANNA: That I would take her job? Yeah, it sounded really good when we said it. But after talking it out with Lo, she advised that it might be best for us to simply add to the roles we already have. My content creation and her podcasting are simply side projects right now.

LIV: Gotcha.

BRIANNA: Look, if either of you hear from Lo, let her know that my camera is waiting.

JAXON: Will do.

BRIANNA exits the office.

LIV: Poor thing. She probably went off the grid to avoid further embarrassment. And this was new territory for me. I didn’t want to smother her if she just wanted to be alone.

JAXON: I just hope she’s okay.

LIV: Me too.

SCENE NINETEEN – EXT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – MAIN ENTRANCE

Lola’s car pulls up to the curb.

LOLA exits her car. She hands her car keys to the valet before she makes her way into the building.

SCENE TWENTY – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – ROSE CAFÈ

LOLA grabs her coffee order from the pickup counter.

SCENE TWENTY ONE – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O HEADQUARTERS – MAIN RECEPTION AREA

The elevator doors open.

LOLA steps off and makes her way to her office.

SCENE TWENTY TWO – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O HEADQUARTERS – LOLA’S OFFICE

LOLA enters the office and sets her stuff down before she sits at her desk.

The camera closes in on the first magazine that’s on top of her mail pile. It’s the magazine that is featuring her and the other L&Os on the cover as the newest rising stars.

LOLA sits at her desk.

LIV enters.

LIV: Girl, I am literally gonna kill you.

LOLA: Good morning to you too.

LIV: It is now. Where the heck have you been for the past few days?

LOLA: Busy.

LIV: Clearly. A few more hours and I would’ve called the cops.

LOLA: Liv, relax. I’m fine.

LIV: You sure?

LOLA: Yes. Why wouldn’t I be?

LIV gives her a very pointed look.

LOLA sighs and gets up from her desk to close the door.

LOLA: Look, I don’t know what Jax told you—

LIV: He told me that he pushed you to tell Sam how you felt, not knowing that Sam’s ex was back in town. And he feels really bad about it.

LOLA: Well he shouldn’t.

LIV: Really?

LOLA: Yes. Jax didn’t force me to do anything. And if anything, I’m grateful for what happened. It just reminded me that I need to get focused. I got sidetracked because of a silly little summer crush. But you know what? Summer’s over and it’s time to move on.

Before LIV can respond, Lola’s phone dings on her desk.

LOLA grabs it and reads the text.

LIV: What is it?

LOLA: Sebastian wants to see all of us in the conference room. He says it’s important.

LOLA walks out of the office.

LIV follows her.

SCENE TWENTY THREE – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O HEADQUARTERS – CONFERENCE ROOM

SEBASTIAN, LOLA, LIV, SKYLAR, BRIANNA, and JAXON are sitting at the table.

SEBASTIAN: Thank you all for joining me on such short notice. If one of you could pass this information onto Samuel when he arrives, that would be great.

JAXON: I got it.

SEBASTIAN: Thank you. Now the reason I called you all here was because I have some news to share with you. I’m sure some of you remember my nephew Austin.

LIV: Of course.

SEBASTIAN: Well he has recently graduated from Welby Academy and is scouting all of you to be featured in his latest project.

SKYLAR: With all due respect, Sebastian, please not another short film. It didn’t exactly work out too well for us the last time.

SEBASTIAN: Yes, I’m aware, which is why I was initially hesitant to hear his pitch. But I did and it was promising.

BRIANNA: So what’s the project?

SEBASTIAN: A docuseries on you guys and your work here at L&O.

JAXON: Sounds interesting.

SEBASTIAN: Yes it is, especially since it will not be produced by Rose and instead with another company.

SKYLAR: Isn’t that like a breach of contract or something?

SEBASTIAN: Not necessarily since your contracts do allow work projects outside of Rose. Of course, that could easily change when you all decide whether to stay there or not.

JAXON: What do you mean “stay there”? Like leaving Rose?

SEBASTIAN: Yes.

SKYLAR: Sebastian, we would never do that.

SEBASTIAN: Never say never, Skylar.

BRIANNA: What company is it?

SEBASTIAN hesitates before he answers.

SEBASTIAN: Sapphire.

LIV: Rose’s biggest competitor?

SEBASTIAN: Yes.

SKYLAR: Well, I think they’re highly overrated. Everyone knows that they focus more on gimmicks than their actual content. If their building gets any taller, it’s gonna hit the sky.

SEBASTIAN: Well that’s because they’re not just a publishing company anymore. They’ve also developed their entertainment business, producing several new music artists and shows, including yours if you choose to accept it.

LIV looks to LOLA to respond and sighs when she realizes that she isn’t.

LIV: So how long would this thing take?

SEBASTIAN: About six weeks. But I didn’t want to speak for all of you, so if you’re all open to the idea, it’s alright with me.

Many various looks are shared around the table.

LIV: I’ll give it a shot.

JAXON turns to her.

JAXON: Really?

LIV: Yes. But only if everyone else agrees.

SEBASTIAN: So I guess we put it to a vote. All those in favor?

LIV, SKYLAR, BRIANNA, and JAXON raise their hands.

LOLA is the last to raise hers hesitantly.

SEBASTIAN: Well I guess I’ll go call Austin and let him know that he can officially begin working on the series.

SEBASTIAN stands and exits the room.

LOLA stands and walks over to the window to sit with her thoughts as the conversation in the room continues.

SKYLAR: Okay so I can’t be the only person who’s a little hesitant with this new project. It’s clear that it is just an attempt to poach us so we end up working at Sapphire.

LIV: Lo, you’ve been oddly non-verbal about this.

LOLA turns back to face them.

LOLA: Sorry. I was just sitting with my thoughts. I know that this seems like a lot, but maybe it’s a good thing that we’re getting our names out there. This project won’t last forever and neither will our time at Sapphire. As long as we focus, keep our composure, and don’t get sucked in, we should be fine. Agreed?

LIV, JAXON, and SKYLAR: Agreed.

LOLA, LIV, JAXON, and SKYLAR all turn to look at BRIANNA, whose eyes are glued to her phone.

BRIANNA looks up.

BRIANNA: Oh, sorry. I was just checking out Sapphire’s Instagram page and wow. They have a lot going on. It’s incredible.

LOLA sits at the table.

JAXON groans.

SKYLAR snatches the phone from her.

SKYLAR: Bri, focus.

BRIANNA: Right.

The door opens.

SAM walks in.

SAM: Hey guys. Sorry I’m late.

SAM sits at the table next to LOLA.

LOLA slowly readjusts herself in her chair.

SAM: What did I miss?

LOLA: A very important project that Jax will share with you on his own time. In the meantime, it is our first day back, which means we need to get to work on our September projects immediately. That’s all for today. Thank you.

LIV, JAXON, SKYLAR, and BRIANNA all stand and head out of the room.

SAM attempts to talk to LOLA alone before she leaves.

SAM: Lo, do you have a second?

LOLA: That’s all I have, so make it fast.

SAM: Okay…I’ve been texting you, but I didn’t hear back.

LOLA: Yeah, I’ve just been busy.

SAM: Well I just wanted to know what you thought about the article.

LOLA: It was good.

SAM: That’s it?

LOLA: Yeah. It wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst either.

SAM: Well, is there anything I could’ve done to make it better?

LOLA: You might want to try to limit some of your personal distractions and then maybe you would’ve seen that you had room for improvement.

SAM furrows his eyebrows.

LOLA: Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some matters to tend to.

LOLA exits the conference room, leaving a baffled SAM behind.

SCENE TWENTY FOUR – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O HEADQUARTERS – FASHION CLOSET

LIV is working on hand sewing a dress on a mannequin.

JAXON sneaks up behind her and whispers in her ear.

JAXON: Drop the sewing needles and no one gets hurt.

LIV chuckles and turns to face him with a tight grin on her face.

LIV: Oh God. You’re lucky you’re cute. Saves you every time.

JAXON: I know.

LIV: So what’s up?

JAXON: I just got my copy of this new book that just came out and was hoping I could get the author’s autograph.

JAXON holds out a copy of Liv’s lookbook with a sharpie.

LIV: Well of course.

LIV takes the sharpie.

LIV: Anything for a fan.

LIV takes the cap off of the marker.

JAXON holds back the book.

JAXON: Whoa. Put some respect on my name, Olivia Keaton. I am the fan. In fact, I am the fan club president.

LIV: Sorry. Mr. Fan Club President.

JAXON: Better.

JAXON reopens the book for her to sign.

LIV: “To my super cute fan club president… Love always, Liv ♡.”

JAXON looks at her in awe and decides to continue to cosplay as the super fan.

JAXON squeals.

JAXON: Oh my God. I can’t wait to post about this!

JAXON drops the facade.

JAXON: Oh wait, that’s right. I can’t. But I will still cherish this for the rest of my life.

LIV: You do that.

JAXON kisses LIV on the cheek before he exits the closet.

LIV blushes and smiles to herself before she returns to sewing.

SCENE TWENTY FIVE – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O HEADQUARTERS – L&O ROOFTOP

SAM is helping BRIANNA shoot some shots of the city to use as B-roll in her videos.

BRIANNA: Thanks for helping me out with this.

SAM: No problem. Anything in particular you want me to focus on?

BRIANNA: Not really.

SAM: Well I’m glad to hear that.

BRIANNA: Why?

SAM: It’s nothing.

BRIANNA: Really?

SAM: Yep.

BRIANNA: Sure sounds like it’s something.

SAM sighs.

BRIANNA: What’s going on?

SAM turns off the camera.

SAM: Do you think I’m distracted?

BRIANNA: Not really. Why do you ask?

SAM: Cause it seems like Lola thinks I am based on the last article that I wrote for the site. Now I’ll admit that it may not have been my best work, but I didn’t think it was that bad either.

BRIANNA: Well as a writer, you can’t take constructive criticism personally. This is Lola that we’re talking about. We know that she’s tough on us to make us better writers.

SAM: Yeah, I guess.

BRIANNA: What did you think about the whole docuseries thing?

SAM: I won’t even lie, I see the potential for disaster given everything that we’ve been through. But things are different now and we are definitely ready to have our names in the spotlight.

BRIANNA: Yeah.

SAM: How are you feeling about it?

BRIANNA: Honestly, I could’ve never predicted all of this when I came to work here as an Observer journalist a year ago, but I’m excited. I just hope that it all turns out the way that everyone wants.

SAM: Hope so.

SCENE TWENTY SIX – INT. ROSE PUBLICATIONS – L&O HEADQUARTERS – LOLA’S OFFICE

LOLA is sitting at desk working on an article on her computer.

Her desk phone rings and she accepts the call on speaker.

LOLA: L&O Magazine, this is Lola Montgomery speaking. How can I help you?

JULIAN: Hi Lola, this is Julian from Sofia Moorland’s office. She would like to have a word with you.

LOLA raises her eyebrows.

LOLA: One moment please.

LOLA quickly gets up, shuts her office door, and sits back at her desk. She transfers the call to “Private” and picks up the phone.

LOLA: You can put her through.

SOFIA: [Over the phone] Hello Lola.

LOLA: Sofia.

SOFIA: How are you doing?

LOLA: Not so great right now. I asked you not to call me at work. Someone else could’ve picked up the phone.

SOFIA: And if that happened, I would’ve had my assistant tell one of your colleagues that he had the wrong number.

LOLA: Whatever. What do you want?

SOFIA: I want to know when a good time is for you to come to Sapphire to discuss some things.

LOLA: I already told you. I can’t meet you there. Not when I’m supposed to be at Rose. I’d completely be blowing my cover. No one even knows I’m doing this.

SOFIA: Well I just heard that you and your team are gonna be the stars of Sapphire’s new docuseries.

LOLA: That had nothing to do with you.

SOFIA: Whether it did or not, you won’t have to work at Sapphire in secret much longer.

LOLA: Don’t go getting any ideas. I told you that I’m not sure about leaving Rose.

SOFIA: Wouldn’t dream of it. Sebastian would destroy me if I poached one of his top employees. But remember your roots, Miss Montgomery. It was the steps you took at Sapphire once that put you where you are at Rose.

LOLA: Believe me. I know.

SOFIA: I will see you on Monday morning.

LOLA grits her teeth.

LOLA: Looking forward to it.

LOLA hangs up the phone and runs her hands through her hair. She looks down at the magazine that features her and the other L&Os and picks it up. Her expression is very emotionless.

SCENE TWENTY SEVEN – FLASH FORWARD 1 – INT. SAPPHIRE ENTERTAINMENT – SOUND STAGE A

The entire scene is shot in slow motion.

LOLA is sitting on the couch for one of her confessional interviews for the docuseries.

THE DOCUSERIES CAMERA CREW is setting up for the shot.

LOLA: [Narrating] I think it’s safe to say that trouble seems to follow us wherever we go. At least that’s what people said. Honestly, I can’t blame them. No matter how hard we try, we always find ourselves at the center of some kind of controversy. We all had one unanimous goal when we started working together. Make headlines. I guess in a way, we did. Just not the way that any of us could’ve wanted…or predicted.

SCENE TWENTY EIGHT – FLASH FORWARD 2 – EPISODE 302 – CLIP FROM SCENE TWENTY ONE

SAM and LOLA’s hands nearly brush as they’re walking, but LOLA pulls hers away.

SCENE TWENTY NINE – FLASH FORWARD 3 – EPISODE 303 – CLIP FROM SCENE NINE

The camera closes in on LOLA displaying a look of disdain.

SCENE THIRTY – FLASH FORWARD 4 – EPISODE 304 – CLIP FROM SCENE TWENTY FIVE

LOLA enters the room and closes the door. She sits on the edge of the bed and takes a deep breath.

SCENE THIRTY ONE – FLASH FORWARD – EPISODE 305 – CLIP FROM SCENE FORTY THREE

SAM, LIV, SKYLAR, JAXON, and BRIANNA are all sitting at the table listening to the recording.

SCENE THIRTY TWO – FLASH FORWARD 5 – INT. SAPPHIRE ENTERTAINMENT – SOUND STAGE A

LOLA is sitting on the couch.

THE DOCUSERIES CAMERA CREW is finishing setting up the shot.

AUSTIN takes his seat behind the camera with his question cards in his hand.

AUSTIN: You ready Lola?

LOLA snaps herself back to reality and puts on a fake smile.

LOLA: Yep.

AUSTIN: Alright. Let’s shoot one.

CREW MEMBER 1: Quiet on set please.

CREW MEMBER 2: Rolling.
